Privacy Policy

This policy describes the personal, non-commercial Homebridge Nest integration operated at The Moody's Home. It is not offered as a service to the public.

Information accessed

With the Google account owner's authorization, the integration may access supported Google Nest device details and status, camera or doorbell video streams, and event data such as motion, person or doorbell notifications, to the extent supplied by Google's Smart Device Management API and authorized permissions.

How information is used

This data is used solely to display and manage authorized smart-home devices through a local Homebridge installation and connected Apple Home devices. The integration is not used for advertising, user profiling, or selling personal information.

Storage and security

Google OAuth credentials and integration settings are stored on the operator's Homebridge computer. The setup uses Google Cloud Pub/Sub to transmit supported Nest events. The configured Pub/Sub subscription can retain messages for up to seven days, but acknowledged messages are not retained by default. Homebridge or associated software may keep local diagnostic logs. The operator is responsible for protecting the computer and credentials.

Sharing with services

Information passes through Google and Google Cloud services as needed for the authorized Nest integration. If Apple Home features, including HomeKit Secure Video where supported, are enabled, Apple may handle video or related data according to the user's Apple settings and privacy terms. This independent integration does not intentionally disclose Google user data to advertisers or unrelated third parties.

Access and deletion

The Google account owner can revoke access through their Google Account's connected-app permissions. The operator can also remove the Homebridge integration, delete locally stored configuration and logs, and delete associated Google Cloud resources. Data retained by Google or Apple is governed by those providers' settings and policies.
